2. Safety — Read Before Use

Many of the products we sell are powerful machines that can cause serious injury or death if used improperly. Read and follow the manufacturer's manual in full before assembly or first use, and keep it for reference. The notes below are reminders, not a substitute for that manual.

Mowers and Outdoor Power Equipment

• Never operate without guards, shields, chutes and deflectors correctly fitted.
• Keep children, bystanders and pets well clear of the work area — riding mowers have significant blind spots.
• Never carry passengers on a riding or zero-turn mower.
• Mow across slopes with a walk-behind and up-and-down with a rider, and never exceed the slope limit in the manual.
• Stop the engine, remove the key and let blades stop completely before clearing a chute or inspecting the deck.

Generators — Carbon Monoxide Risk

• Never run a generator indoors, in a garage, basement, crawl space, shed or under an open window — carbon monoxide is odourless and kills quickly.
• Site it outdoors, well away from doors, windows and vents, with the exhaust pointed away from occupied buildings.
• Install working CO alarms in the home whenever a generator is in use.
• Never back-feed a generator into house wiring. Permanent connection requires a transfer switch installed by a licensed electrician.
• Refuel only with the engine stopped and cool. Store fuel in approved containers away from living spaces.

Shop Machinery, Tire Changers and Lifts

• For use by trained personnel only. Tyre and rim explosions cause severe injuries.
• Never exceed rated capacity, pressure or duty cycle, and never bypass safety interlocks.
• Anchor equipment to the floor where the manual requires it, and verify electrical supply, phase and breaker sizing before connection.
• Wear appropriate eye, ear, hand and foot protection.

Golf Carts and Electric Bikes

• Local law governs where these may be ridden and by whom. Registration, insurance, licensing and helmet rules vary by state and municipality — check before you buy.
• Charge lithium batteries only with the supplied charger, on a hard non-combustible surface, and never unattended overnight or in an exit route.
• Stop using any battery that is swollen, punctured, leaking or unusually hot.
• Observe stated weight limits and never modify the controller or speed limiter.

Grills, Grill Islands and Fire Features

• Use outdoors only, on a stable non-combustible surface, well clear of walls, eaves, railings and overhangs.
• Leak-test every gas connection with soapy water before first use and after any reconnection.
• Never leave a lit grill unattended, and keep a suitable extinguisher nearby.
• Clean grease trays regularly — grease build-up is the leading cause of grill fires.

Gazebos, Pergolas, Carports and Sheds

• Assembly usually requires two or more people. Follow the sequence in the manual exactly.
• Anchor the structure to the ground or slab as specified; unanchored structures can be lifted by wind.
• Remove snow loads promptly and take down fabric canopies before storms and in winter.
• Permits, setback rules and HOA approval may be required. Confirming that is the customer's responsibility, and it is not grounds for return once assembled.

3. Installation, Permits and Professional Advice

Nothing on our site constitutes engineering, electrical, structural, legal, financial or safety advice. Electrical connection, gas plumbing, foundations and permanent structures should be carried out by appropriately licensed professionals in accordance with local codes. You are responsible for obtaining any permit, inspection or approval your project requires.

4. Fitment and Compatibility

Where we list compatibility for a part or accessory, it is a guide only. Confirm fitment against your own model and serial number before ordering. Parts installed on the wrong machine cannot be returned.

5. Estimates and Performance Figures

Run times, coverage rates, cutting widths, range, load capacities and BTU ratings are manufacturer figures obtained under test conditions. Real-world results vary with terrain, load, temperature, altitude, maintenance and operator technique.
